Brazilian President’s daring statement on Vladimir Putin and Zelensky

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva says neither Russian President Vladimir Putin nor his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky are talking about peace at the moment.

On Twitter, the President of Brazil deplores the position of his Ukrainian counterpart.

The latter would have refused to meet him on the sidelines of the G7 this weekend in Japan, the Brazilian press reported.

“I have the impression that neither Putin nor Zelensky are talking about peace at the moment,” Brazilian President Lula lamented on Twitter on Sunday, as the war in Ukraine has dragged on for more than a year.

“It seems that they are both convinced that someone will win. Only peace will prevent more people from dying,” he wrote, saying that Brazil, China, the india and Indonesia “are countries engaged in building peace.”
