Some suspected herdsmen have attacked and murdered a 49-year-old man in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Nigeria.
“The victim was working on his fishing camp in the bush when the armed men shot at and killed him, “reports said.
A farmer from the community was also shot and currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
The farmers and fishermen fled the bush after reports of armed attacks by herdsmen spread around the area.
“The deceased was attacked because he stopped them from grazing on farmlands around his fishing camp,” according to a youth leader in the Okordia clan.
He appealed to the state government to ensure that the killers are brought to book.
