Gianni Infantino re-elected as FIFA President

Gianni Infantino was re-elected as head of FIFA at the end of the 73rd Congress of the organization held in Kigali in Rwanda as he was the only candidate.

He will lead FIFA at least until 2027.

In office since 2016, the lawyer was reappointed by acclamation.

“Being president of FIFA is an incredible honor, an incredible privilege. It is also a great responsibility. I am truly moved and touched by your support,” said Gianni Infantino just after his election.

“I promise that I will continue to serve FIFA, to serve soccer around the world and to serve the 211 member associations of FIFA,” he added.

The 52-year-old had been re-elected in 2019 at the head of the institution.
