Wagner boss wants to become president of Ukraine

The boss of the Russian paramilitary group Wagner, Yevgeny Prigojine, said he wanted to become “president” of Ukraine, in a video posted on social networks on Saturday by the press service of his company Concord.

“I have a political ambition: I have decided to stand in the Ukrainian presidential election in 2024,” he announced in paramilitary uniform, during a trip to the front.

The former Kremlin henchman does not hide his desire to confront the current Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as well as his predecessor Petro Poroshenko.

“I will run for this position against (them)”, Mr Prigojine assures.
