Guinness World Records announced on Friday that it had received evidence of the existence of a canine over 30 years old, Bobi, residing in Portugal.
It is the oldest known dog in the world, according to a record recorded on January 9.
Born on May 11, 1992, the dog was very precisely 30 years and 243 days old on January 9, when the record was approved by Guinness.
Bobi thus breaks a record nearly a century old. The world’s oldest known four-legged companion was an Australian herding dog named Bluey. It had lived 29 years and 5 months.
